I gathered these tricks after creating installers using WiX. For each problem, a solution was found after long experimenting or searching deep in the web.


WiX facilitates plenty of use cases out of the box. However, there are tasks that just don’t come built into Windows Installer by default.


If you're using WiX v3.0 you'll have to type more stuff. line 10: This is the Property that we'll remember. In this case, I have no default value but you could add one if your scenario required it.


(I have written condition using CData but for some reason its not displayed here, so just removed it from here.) What could be reason for this?


We recommend using the wix-param property – it allows you to save the value the user selects within the Wix site (instead of saving it on your database).


I'm confused about the correct procedure for setting a Property in Wix. Is it necessary to use an Event?
